CM Ashok Gehlot inaugurated the folk artist promotion scheme
In a celebration of rich cultural heritage and a commitment to the welfare of folk artists, a Folk Art and Social Security Festival enthralled audiences at Jawahar Kala Kendra today. The festival witnessed the grand inauguration of the Lok Kalakar Protsahan Yojana, a visionary scheme dedicated to the upliftment of folk artists.
The esteemed occasion witnessed the presence of Chief Minister of the state, Ashok Gehlot, followed by the launch of the Lok Kalakar Protsahan Yojana. This pioneering scheme aims to provide crucial support to folk artists through incentive cards and symbolic distribution of musical instruments. With a dedicated fund of Rs 100 crore, the scheme paves the way for enhancing the lives of these talented individuals.
Under the aegis of the Lok Kalakar Protsahan Yojana, a remarkable provision has been made wherein folk artistes will have the opportunity to perform for 100 days per family per year. Additionally, a one-time grant of Rs 5,000 will be extended to these artists, enabling them to acquire instruments and equipment vital to their craft.
The festivities culminated with a vibrant rally of artists, parading from Rajasthan University to Jawahar Kala Kendra. The artistic fervor further extended into a captivating fair at Shilpgram, where an array of folk arts such as Bahurupiya, Phad, Langa-Manganiyar, and Hela Khayal were showcased. As the senses were immersed in the world of art, food stalls offering diverse cuisines delighted visitors, enhancing the overall experience.
The Folk Art and Social Security Festival kept the promise of being a spectacular affair, celebrating the invaluable contributions of folk artists while setting the stage for their continued growth and prosperity.
