Civil Lines Rly crossing: ROB OR UNDERPASS?
Jaipur: A virtual meeting to discuss the feasibility of ROB or underpass at Civil Lines Railway crossing was held on Wednesday.
Apart from the officials of JDA and Railways, architect Anoop Bartaria also attended the meeting and gave his suggestions.
Chief bridge engineer of Railways Dinesh Deshwal suggested that ROB is more suitable than an underpass. For the underpass, digging at a depth of 20 metres will have to be done.
He said that if an underpass is constructed, it will create a problem of drainage. Apart from it, the ramp will go long on both sides.
Looking at the traffic load, the Railways has recommended ROB. Deshwal said that if the JDA wants to construct an underpass, then it should send a proposal to the Railways and it will be examined.
Bartaria, who has a great track record, appeared in favour of the underpass and gave many justified arguments. Final decision will be taken by the Railways.
