Chhath puja concludes in Jaipur after four-day long celebration
Jaipur: Amidst the rich culture of Purvanchal and the melodious tunes of Bhojpuri songs, on Friday morning, devotees completed the 36-hour waterless Chhath fast by offering arghya (a ritual offering) to the rising sun.
In Jaipur, thousands of people from Purvanchal gathered at Amer’s Maotha, Galta Teerth, and Kanota Dam to worship Lord Surya (the Sun God) and Chhathi Maiya, praying for the prosperity and well-being of their families.
The grand festival of faith, Chhath, concluded with devotees breaking their fast after offering arghya to the rising sun. Women, adorned in traditional adornments carried offerings like thekua (a traditional sweet made of wheat flour, jaggery, dry fruits, and ghee), fruits, and sweets and offered to the sun standing in the water and prayed to Chhathi Maiya for prosperity and happiness.
