Cash worth Rs 1.37 cr found from Ganpati Plaza lockers

Jaipur: Amid the ongoing action in the private lockers at Ganpati Plaza, the Income Tax Department has now started breaking the lockers. About Rs 1.37 crore cash was recovered from the two lockers that were broken on Friday.

Apart from this, foreign currency, jewellery and many documents have also been seized by the Income Tax Department team. About 80 lockers have been considered sensitive on which action can be taken. Income Tax Department action has been going on since October 13 on the private lockers.

As many locker owners did not arrive after the notices, the department passed the notice on their lockers and it also expired, so now the Department is taking action to break open such lockers.
