BSF / NCB Jodhpur Joint Operation Leads to Seizure of Heroin Valued at 6.056 Crores

Jodhpur: In a collaborative effort, the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Jodhpur successfully executed a joint operation resulting in the seizure of a huge  quantity of heroin in the area of responsibility of BOP-7H, District Sriganganagar.
On March 11, 2024, the vigilant troops of 48 Bn BSF, Sriganganagar, discovered six packets concealed in a yellow adhesive tape, suspected to contain heroin. The BSF promptly notified the NCB Jodhpur for further legal action. Under the vigilant supervision of Ghanasyam Soni ,IRS ,Zonal Director,NCB Jodhpur & Jaipur , a specialized team from the Jodhpur Zonal Unit of the NCB was dispatched to Sector - Sriganganagar, where they conducted the necessary seizing procedures. The case has been registered with the NCB under CR No: 04/2024, dated March 12, 2024, under relevant sections of the NDPS Act 1985.The seized contraband, weighing 3.028 kilograms, holds an estimated market value of 6.056 crores. Legal formalities are currently underway, and an application for conducting proceedings under section 52 A of the NDPS Act 1985 will be presented in the Hon'ble court of Sriganganagar on March 14, 2024.

Ghanasyam Soni, Zonal Director of NCB Jodhpur & Jaipur, expressed his appreciation for the coordinated efforts of the BSF and NCB teams, emphasizing the commitment to combating narcotics trafficking in the region.
