Jaipur: UDH Minister Shanti Dhariwal on Tuesday, admitted in the House that the basis on which BRTS was formed, hasn’t been fully benefited, but there is no proposal to remove it.

He said that due to this, DPR of BRTS was changed in 2008 & work was done on 2 packages out of 4 packages & construction of Ajmer Road Elevated Road & Durgapura Elevated Road was done in 2 packages.

50 % amount was spent by Centre, 20 % by State Government, & 30% by JDA under the scheme. A total of Rs 508.74 cr has been spent on project.

If State Govt removes BRTS, then it would have to pay interest money to Centre & there would be problems in Centrally sponsored schemes
