Blind Book Date with Bookoholics

The Bookoholics, India's largest readers’ community, with over a million followers on social media held their 5th Reader's Meetup in Jaipur, at Firangi Deli on January 7.

More than 30 readers joined in for the evening, to share their love for books and literature. The event began at 6 p.m. with a round of introductions and refreshments including coffee & Snacks. While sipping their coffee everyone interacted & shared their current reads, became nostalgic over the book that has made them fall in love with reading, excitedly discussed how different authors write differently, and of course, got recommendations to be added to their existing reading lists.

There were several poets as well, who set the ambiance for the evening by invoking different emotions - joy & celebrations, a sense of introspection, contemplation about the sweet & not so sweet truths of life & whatnot!

It was not just a regular meet-up of readers but a mix of many literature-centric activities. As the event proceeded, a series of enjoyable activities such as "never have I ever" wherein people shared their not-so-known secrets around books and a round of "dumb charades"  acting & guessing the names of the books unfolded. Reader-turned-actors participated enthusiastically.

Finally they wrapped up the evening by choosing a "blind book date" and a cake-cutting event to mark their milestone of 400,000 subscribers. They dropped promising hints that more such events would be happening in many cities very soon. The event concluded with readers and team members socializing and making plans about upcoming meetups.
