Blackbuck case: Hearing on Salman Khan's transfer petition postponed

Jodhpur: The hearing on Salman Khan's petition to transfer the case related to the hunting blackbuck from the Sessions Court to the High Court was adjourned today.

Today, Salman's lawyer requested to extend the hearing date in court of Judge PS Bhati for two weeks as the State Government didn't present its answer in this matter.

The CJM court had convicted Salman Khan and sentenced him to 5 years in the case of hunting two blackbucks in the outskirts of Kankani village near Jodhpur.

The court had acquitted co-accused in this case, film actors Saif Ali Khan, actresses Neelam, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Dushyant Singh, giving them the benefit of doubt.

The State Government however challenged acquittal of these people in High Court and acquittal of Salman in the Arms Act.

In such a situation, a transfer petition was filed on behalf of Salman Khan in the High Court which said that all the three cases are related to each other and if all are heard in the High Court, then time will be saved.
