BJP’s 1st list of 41 candidates includes 7 MPs

Jaipur: By making seven BJP MPs candidates in the assembly elections in the first list of Rajasthan, the debate has once again started that if BJP forms the government, who will become the Chief Minister? Among the MPs fielded in the assembly elections, there are six Lok Sabha and one Rajya Sabha member. At present, no Union Minister has been fielded in the Assembly elections, but it is believed that the names of one or two Union Ministers may appear in the next lists.

In the list, only on two assembly seats of the capital Jaipur, Jhotwara and Vidyadhar Nagar, candidates have been changed and MPs have been made candidates. Both these seats are Rajput dominated seats. Jaipur Rural MP Rajyavardhan Singh has been fielded from Jhotwara and Diya Kumari, a member of former Jaipur royal family, has been fielded from Vidyadhar Nagar. Apart from these, Alwar MP Baba Balak Nath has been made candidate from Tijara, Ajmer MP Bhagirath Choudhary from Kishangarh, Jhunjhunu MP Narendra Kumar from Mandawa and Jalore MP Devji Patel from Sanchore. Dr Kirori Lal Meena, who has a deep influence in the Meena community, has been fielded from Sawai Madhopur seat.

Notably, most of these MPs see themselves as the CM face of BJP. Traditionally, Rajput candidate is the first choice as BJP’s CM face. Of course, there are two Rajput faces in that list, but their political stature is not considered to be at the level of the post of Chief Minister. In such a situation, there is every possibility that the name of some other big Rajput face will appear in the next lists.
