BJP leaders meet Guv Mishra, submit memo over corruption

Jaipur: BJP leaders on Friday met Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and handed over a memorandum on various issues including law and order, corruption, atrocities on women and dalit and disaster management in the state.

The governor has forwarded the memorandum to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot asking him to take effective time-bound action on points raised in it.

BJP State President CP Joshi, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Rajendra Rathore and several other MPs and MLAs reached the Raj Bhavan and met the Governor. Talking to reporters outside the Raj Bhavan after giving the memorandum to the Governor, Leader of the Opposition Rajendra Rathore said that the governor has assured the delegation of taking appropriate action.

Earlier, CP Joshi and Rathore addressed the party MPs and MLAs in a meeting held at the party office. Joshi said that corruption, rape, atrocities on dalit, paper leak and scams have tarnished the reputation of the state. He said that the Gehlot government was protecting the accused involved in the gang rape and murder of a dalit girl in Bikaner and other issues.

Citing losses caused by Biparjoy cyclone, Joshi said that despite the warnings of the Meteorological Department, the state government could not make arrangements to protect the people while elaborate arrangements were made in Gujarat.

After the meeting, the leaders marched to Raj Bhavan to hand over the representation.
