BJP GETS INTO ‘SPORTS POLITICS’ WITH NEW SAGA OF JPR MAHAKHEL

Jaipur: After Congress, now BJP is also trying to woo people through sports ahead of the assembly elections in Rajasthan. The opposition party is going to organize the sports event ‘Mahakhel’ in Jaipur.

The move comes after the rural Olympic games organised by the state government last year. The government is going to organise urban Olympic games this year. In BJP’s Mahakhel, 630 teams from eight assembly constituencies of Jaipur Lok Sabha constituency will participate. MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said that the Congress wasted crores of rupees by organizing the Rural Olympics due to which players did not get benefits.

“Our goal is to develop both the game and the players. That is why we will organize the Mahakhel in 32 stadiums developed by us,” he said. He said that cash prizes will be given and better-performing players will be selected for better training through Mahakhel.
