BJP AND CONGRESS KEEP FINGERS CROSSED IN FEAR OF CROSS VOTING

Jaipur: With just three days to go for Jaipur Municipal Corporation Greater Mayor bypolls, both Congress and BJP are in a dilemma. The BJP is afraid of crossvoting and the Congress wants to put its mayoral candidate Singhania on throne through crossvoting. In a matter of relief for BJP, 16 more councillors have been added to the enclosure.

The MLAs are constantly in touch with the councillors of their respective areas and are listening to their problems. According to sources, this is the first time in the last two years, when the MLAs are being so caring for the councillors. In 2019, a maximum number of councillors in Malviya Nagar, Vidyadhar Nagar and Sanganer areas defeated the mayoral candidate of their own party by cross-voting.

BJP MLA and state spokesperson Ramlal Sharma claimed that 84 councillors out of 93 (BJP and independent) have reached the hotel, while only nine councillors are away and they will join soon.

Even though acting Mayor Sheel Dhabai has been thrown out of the mayor race by the party, she continued to work. Even on Monday, she reached the JMCG office and sat in her chamber
