Bisalpur Dam rehab pays off: Gates open for farmers’ prosperity
Jaipur: The sight of this monsoon season at the Bisalpur Dam, serving as a lifeline for Jaipur and Ajmer, promise a new spectacle. After three years of diligent efforts under the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Program, the power system has been strengthened, and the gates’ lifeline has been enhanced. Rehabilitation work downstream of the dam will manifest during floods this time.
Commenced in July 2021, the project was slated to be completed by July 2024, with a staggering investment of Rs. 29.61 crore in the dam’s system. The hope now is that the gates at Bisalpur Dam will open, allowing water to flow downstream, benefiting thousands of farmers with irrigation. The opening of dam’s gates will not only signify the commencement of irrigation but also serve as a revelation of the improvements witnessed in Bisalpur.
