Big blow to Cong, 4-time Raj MLA Malviya joins BJP
Jaipur: Four-time Congress MLA and former minister Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya joined BJP on Monday ahead of 2024 LS elections. Malviya, the MLA from Bagidora in Banswara district, said he joined BJP for the development of the Vagad, a tribal region in south Rajasthan and comprises Banswara and the Dungarpur districts. “I met BJP chief JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Sunday. I am influenced by PM Narendra Modi’s address during the saffron party’s national convention,” he said during a press conference after he joined the party. “With full devotion, I am joining the BJP. There is no one else who can work in tribal area except the BJP and Modi,” he said.
