Bhajan Lal govt plans Rs 18,500 cr urban development boost in State

Jaipur: The Bhajan Lal government is preparing to give a big gift to the cities as about Rs18,000 crore will be spent on the development of cities. This huge amount will be spent on 4 big cities and 26 satellite towns.

The World Bank and Asian Development Bank have given a proposal to the state govt and out of this amount, a proposal has been given to give a loan of 70%.

These two banks have proposed to give about 13K cr rupees. The remaining about 5,500 cr RS will be given by the state government. In the fifth phase of RUIDP, a total of 40 cities will be developed and these include 10 divisional headquarters namely Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Kota, Ajmer, Bikaner, Udaipur, Pali, Sikar, and Banswara. Apart from these, 4 cities with high population are included namely Churu, Sriganganagar, Jhunjhunu and Tonk.
