Bhajan Lal Cabinet expansion likely before MCC is imposed
Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma met Governor Kalraj Mishra at the Raj Bhavan on Monday. Interestingly, there were murmurs that this meet could be in connection with the Cabinet expansion in the Bhajan Lal government. Although the CMO termed the CM’s visit as a courtesy call to the Governor.
Highly placed sources, however, said that the Cabinet is likely to expand anytime before imposition of the Model Code of Conduct for the Lok Sabha polls but oath taking would not happen on Tuesday, as was being speculated post CM and Governor meeting.
About 3 MLAs are likely to take oath as ministers while a Minister of State may be elevated as Cabinet minister. The names of Mahant Baba Balaknath, Shrichand Kriplani and Gurveer Singh Brar are doing the rounds for inclusion in the Cabinet.
Sadulshahar MLA Brar will become a minister as the BJP wants to give representation to Sri Ganganagar district before the Lok Sabha elections. Surendra Pal Singh was made a minister even before contesting election and had to resign after losing.
