Beheaded body of a woman found, hand missing; murder suspected

Jodhpur: A beheaded body of an unidentified woman was found near railway tracks in the Shastri Nagar area of Jodhpur on Sunday. Police informed that the woman could have been murdered and her body was then possibly thrown near railway tracks to show it as an accident.

“The woman is aged around 30 years, but her identity is yet to be confirmed. A team of FSL and a dog squad were called to the spot to collect the samples. It could be possibly a murder, but an accidental death cannot be ruled out at this stage. We are investigating the case from both angles while five teams have been formed and CCTV footage is being gathered,” said DCP (West) Gaurav Yadav.

“The dead body seems to be three days old. Information is being sought whether any missing person report had been filed in any of the police stations. The dead body has been kept in the mortuary of MDM Hospital,” added the DCP Gaurav Yadav.
