Ban on single-use plastic from July 1, fine on manufacturers

Jaipur: Raj government will ban dozens of products made of plastic from July 1 in the state. The Department of Environment and Climate Change has issued a notification. As per the notification, officials of eight departments have been authorized to confiscate and impose fines on the use and manufacture of banned plastic product.

Officials informed that banned products range from disposable glasses to ear buds and even plastic made flags and banners. Central Pollution Control Board has directed all stakeholders to finish their stock before June 30.

Notably, Union Government had last year notified a ban on the use of single-use plastic items from July 1, 2022.
