Ban on protests against mobile tower installation for 5G push

Jaipur: The Urban Development and Housing Department on Friday removed the compulsion of inviting suggestions and objections from public before erecting highrise mobile towers. With this, the public will not be able to protest or object against erecting of mobile towers.

Sources informed that in order to promote 5G mobile technology and infrastructure, the government has taken away this right from the public. In fact, the mobile operators will not have to take permission from the authority concerned. Before installing the tower, only information will have to be given to the authority.

The Urban Development Department issued its order on Friday adding new provisions to the guidelines. The fee for setting up towers and laying OFC has also been reduced by three to five times.
