Automatic driving tracks prove white elephants

Jaipur: Biggest reason for increasing road accidents in state is that disqualified people are getting driving licences. Transport department had made automatic driving tracks in all RTO offices, but after giving the work of making permanent driving licenses to a private company, these tracks are also proving to be white elephants.

CM Ashok Gehlot has also expressed concern and given instructions to prepare a concrete action plan to prevent road accidents by taking a meeting of the officials of the Transport Department twice, but it seems that the department is not trying to stop road accidents happening in state.

By spending a hefty amount from security fund, automatic driving tracks have been constructed in 11 regional transport and many dist transport offices, but department has given operation of automatic driving track in hands of a private company which is ignoring the rules. Ineligible people are getting licences.
