At MGMU event, Birla pitches for research in medical field

Jaipur: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Saturday said that going by the experience of covid pandemic, more research in the field of medical sciences is required.

Birla was speaking at the convocation programme of Mahatma Gandhi Medical Universit at Sitapura in Jaipur.

“Corona has taught us a lot, seeing the kind of situation we have gone through, it is clear that there is a great need for research in the medical field,” he said.

“PM Modi himself wants that there should be more progress in medical science and there should be more innovation in India, that is why the focus is on the medical sector after the Corona pandemic,” he added.

In the programme, Birla awarded degrees to medical and dental students.
He motivated students to face the challenges.

“The kind of challenge that came during the Corona pandemic, the whole world was worried but doctors and other medicos in India served well this is the reason why we were able to fight a pandemic like Corona,” he said.

Birla said that the students have earned the degrees with great effort and their parents and teachers have a special contribution in this.

The LS speaker said that there is a need to open research centers in the private medical sector. He also said that it is expected that Rajasthan will become the center of medical tourism.
