ASSESS FLOOD DAMAGE,ENSURE PROMPT HELP: CM TO OFFICERS

Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot while chairing a review meet on Lumpy Skin Disease among cattle via video-conferencing at CMR on Sunday, apart from expressing concern over the spread of the disease among the cows, also talked about the excessive rains in the state. He said that instructions have been given to the officials regarding the damage caused by excessive rains. Gehlot recently took stock of the situation by conducting an aerial survey of 6 districts affected by floods.

Instructions were also given to the District Collector to assess the damage caused to public and private properties, crops and animals at the earliest and provide prompt assistance to the affected. Kataria said that districts are being continuously monitored to prevent LSD. He said that so far, 8 lakh cows have been infected in Raj, out of which 7.40 L have been treated. The rate of infection is decreasing rapidly in Western Rajasthan. BJP State President Dr Satish Poonia, during the Video-Conference with Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, made few suggestions during the meeting on LSD spreading among the cattle in the state. Dr Poonia while suggesting measures to curb the disease, said that Veterinary Officers and Livestock Assistants be recruited immediately, stamp duty and liquor cess should be used for 100% protection of cows, gaushalas operating across the state should be supported and compensation should be given to cattle owners, who have suffered losses due to deaths of cows affected by the virus.
