ASP SUSPENDED; ATS CLAIMS UDAIPUR KILLERS WERE INSPIRED BY ZAKIR NAIK

Udaipur : The Sate Government on Friday suspended an Additional Superintendent of Police on charges of negligence in connection with the killing of Kanhaiya Lal Teli in Udaipur. Meanwhile, the ATS and SOG of the state police claimed that the accused Riaz Akhtari and Ghaus Mohammad were inspired by Zakir Naik, an Islamic preacher. According to sources, some literature has been found from Ghaus’s house, in which Zakir Naik’s speeches are also found.

The ATS also termed “premature” the media reports quoting NIA that there is no involvement of any terror organisation in the killing of Kanhaiya Lal in Udaipur. The investigation is at an initial stage. It is yet to go to the depth of the conspiracy, a statement of ATS and SOG said.
