As half MLAs miss meeting Cong candidates, RLP may support BJP nominee!
Jaipur: In what could be termed as a major development, considering that Congress is preparing to field 3 of its leaders for RS polls, a large number of MLAs didn’t attend meeting with candidates! Congress has claimed support of 126 MLAs but only 61 MLAs reached in Monday’s meeting with 3 candidates.
5 independent MLAs also didn’t attend the meet. Although all 3 candidates filed nominations, but the absence of about half MLAs is a matter of discussion. And now there is a worry in certain circles of the party that perhaps MLAs are not too happy with ‘outside candidates’ fielded by Congress.
Although a short notice for the meeting can also be the reason for the alleged ‘disgruntlement’.
In such a situation, an independent candidate can take advantage of resentment. In this category, the BJP is seriously considering the name of ZEE media Chairman Dr Subhash Chandra who reached Jaipur on Monday night.
Notably, there was yet another development as it was reported that three RLP MLAs may have extended their support to Dr. Chandra and the saffron party’s ‘relevant circles’ were abuzz with word of the role of a BJP leader from Kota division behind the support of RLP.
