An ‘Indispensable’ Akhil Arora Factor!
Jaipur: A 1993 Rajasthan cadre IAS officer, Akhil Arora, who is holding the charge of the Finance Department for the last 3 & a half years and now in his capacity as ACS Finance, has virtually emerged as an indispensable factor in the financial management of the state government. After the departure of Gehlot government and the arrival of Bhajan Lal Sharma government, it was largely believed that the command of the Finance Department will be given to someone else but even after a detailed homework, there was no consensus on any other officer as Akhil’s replacement. At this juncture, a top bureaucrat remarked that Akhil has virtually become an indispensable factor or face to manage the financial affairs of the state under the close supervision of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, who also holds the charge of the Finance Minister.
Notably, a low-profile and silent performer Akhil has enjoyed an equal trust and confidence of the two former Chief Ministers i.e. Vasundhara Raje and Ashok Gehlot… and now a soft-spoken and efficient CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, who takes keen interest in financial matters of the state, is also no exception.
Meanwhile, CS Sudhansh Pant has also started taking keen interest and undertakes a regular monitoring exercise of the revenue operations, which will further improve the revenue collection status of various departments.
