Alok Sonkhiya gets elected as new president

Jaipur: Alok Sonkhiya from United Jewellers Group has been elected President of the Jewellers Association Jaipur for 2024-2026. He took the oath on Monday. In the elections held on Saturday, 13 candidates from United Jewellers Group won, while two members of Voice of Jewellers group won.

Along with Sonkhiya, 13 other executive members also took oath, while two members could not take oath as they are abroad.

Neeraj Lunawat was elected as Secretary, Raju Agarwal Mangodiwala as Vice-President, Ajay Godha as Joint Secretary and Govind Prakash Agarwal as Treasurer. Lunawat and Agarwal have been elected on the posts for a second consecutive time. Former presidents of the association, Durga Prasad Khandelwal, Nirmal Bardia and Vijay Kedia have been coopted in the board of directors.

On the occasion, former presidents of Jewellers Association Jaipur Ramdas Sonkhia, Jagdish Prasad Tambi, Vivek Kala, Sanjay Kala, Ramsharan Gupta, NGJCI Chairman Pramod Agarwal-Derawala were also present.

In the elections, the issues of construction of Gem Burse in Jaipur, successful organization of the Association’s Jewellery Show among other things, were discussed.
