Alok Gupta made Principal Secy to CM

Jaipur: IAS officer Alok Gupta has been appointed as the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, further strengthening the CMO by inducting yet another effective and efficient officer after ACS Shikhar Agrawal.

A 1996 batch IAS officer, Gupta was serving as Principal Secretary in the Energy department. On January 10, 2024, Gupta was transferred to principal secretary energy from the Administrative Reforms department. Within a month, he was again transferred to a more powerful position.

Gupta is considered a silent worker with high calibre. A post graduate from IIT, Gupta has been collector of four districts Dungarpur, Jhunjhunu, Bikaner and Nagaur.
