‘Aiming to give power to farmers at daytime via renewable energy’
Jaipur: Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar at the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Business Promotion Summit 2024 held at RIC in Jaipur on Thursday, stated that the state government is working diligently to provide electricity to farmers during the day by the year 2027 through the promotion of renewable energy.
He mentioned that the state government has issued Letters of Intent (LoIs) for projects totaling 4,386 MW under the Kusum C scheme in just 7 months. “These renewable energy projects are being implemented on the ground in mission mode,” Nagar said.
He added that with the strong partnership of energy undertakings from the Central and State Governments, Rajasthan will soon not only become self-reliant in energy but will also play an important role in supplying electricity to other states.
On this occasion, an MoU was signed between RVUN and GAIL India. Under this agreement, GAIL India will explore the possibilities of transferring the 330 MW gas-based power plants installed in Dholpur and the 270.5 MW gas-based power plants installed in Ramgarh through a joint venture for efficient and appropriate capacity operation, and will also ensure the supply of gas in sufficient quantities at reasonable rates.
