Ahir Regiment demand echoes in poll-bound Raj

Jaipur: Yadav leaders on Sunday demanded the formation of Ahir Regiment in the Indian Army considering the strength of soldiers from the Yadav community.

They also raised several other demands including the formation of Shree Krishna Board (Aheer Vikas Board), public holiday on 23 September on the birth anniversary of Raja Rao Tuleram.

The leaders of Yadav community were addressing at Ahir Janjagriti Sammelan at VT road ground in Mansarovar. They said that there are more than 26 crore Yadavs in the country and most of them are young.

“They are contributing in the army, agriculture, research, Industry sector etc,” the leaders, who put up a show of strength ahead of the assembly elections, said.
