AFTER DEMISE OF GURMEET SINGH KOONER, TOTAL 1,874 CANDIDATES ARE IN FIELD

Jaipur: The data of 1875 candidates for Rajasthan 2023 Assembly Elections shows that 651 are crorepatis, 326 have declared criminal cases and 236 have serious criminal cases filed against them. The data analysis by Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Rajasthan Election Watch on basis of the self-sworn affidavits of all 1875 candidates shows that 688 are from National parties, 105 from State parties, and 734 candidates are contesting independently.

The directions of Supreme Court have had no effect on political parties as they have again given tickets to around 17% candidates with criminal cases. All major parties contesting have given tickets from 6% to 72 % candidates who have declared criminal cases against themselves.
