Advanced 100-bed ward at SMS Hosp gathers dust

Jaipur: In the biggest hospital of the State, on the one hand where the patients are struggling for the beds, on the other hand, the 100-bed ward made with state-of-the-art technology in Bangar campus for cardiac patients is waiting for the patients for almost six months.

The pre-fabricated ward prepared at the cost of Rs 6 crore is gathering dust at the SMS hospital. The then Chief Medical Education Secretary had given instructions to start the ward soon, but still the ward prepared with state-ofthe-art technology is waiting for the patients.

The most surprising thing is that even before the inception of the ward, flaws also started coming to the fore. Due to lack of care, problems in ceiling falling in many places in the ward. In such a situation, the question is whether they are responsible only for spending the budget.

This ward was almost ready in August last year but it has not yet been started for the patients. The logic of the administration was that the stairs were the only way to the ward. Time taken to extend the existing lift to the second floor.
