Action will be taken against cops involved in wrongful actions: Gehlot
Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday, patted the police officials for the campaigns being run by the police headquarters in nabbing criminals and for taking swift action. He said that the department was doing a good job in controlling crime and the state government is determined to maintain strong law and order in the state.
Gehlot reviewed the crime and law and order in the meeting at the PHQ in which Minister of State for Home Rajendra Yadav, CS Usha Sharma, DGP Umesh Mishra and other officials were present.
During the meeting, the issue of fraud in the lands was raised as the CM focused on the matter. He emphasis on taking action on incidents like giving 2 leases of the same land and the Jaipur Police Commissioner was instructed to take effective action in such cases. Meanwhile, Gehlot also praised the special monitoring on those who follow criminals on social media by police to maintain communal harmony.
“We have inculcated faith in the common people, fear in the criminals. The number of FIRs has definitely increased due to uninterrupted registration system but there is also an effective reduction in investigation time,” he told the media after chairing the review meeting.
He said that while the investigation period was 115 days in 2020, this period has come down to 52 days in May, 2023.
