ACB traps 2 SHOs 2 constables for taking Rs 3.30L bribe in Dungarpur

Jaipur/Dungarpur: The ACB on Thursday nabbed two SHOs and two constables while taking a bribe of Rs 3.30 lakh from a liquor contractor. Furthermore, the bureau team also recovered Rs 5 lakh from the almirah of the police station’s reader which was taken earlier by the cops in the matter. Accroding to officials, the joint team of Jaipur and Ajmer ACB has carried out the action in Dungarpur.

ACB ASP Bajrang Singh Shekhawat said that on May 31, the liquor contractors of Dungarpur had complained that the Dungarpur police was taking Rs 5 lakh as monthly amount from the contractors. However, the police increased the monthly amount to Rs 10 lakh and in the event of being unable to pay the amount, the cops were threatening to implicate the contractors in false cases.

After receiving the complaint from the complainant, the ACB team verified the same and during verification, Rs 5 lakh was taken by SHO Dilipdan of Kotwali police station and demanded more money. The ACB then team laid a trap wherein the reader of Kotwali police station, Bhopal Singh and intelligence officer Jagdish Vishnoi were arrested red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 3.30 from a liquor contractor in Dungarpur. During interrogation, both confessed to taking bribe for Dhambola SHO Bhaiyalal Anjana and SHO Dilipdan of Kotwali police station following which the ACB got the two to verify the bribe demand and made them speak to their respective seniors via phone, after which the two CIs were also nabbed.
