ACB playing a crucial role against corruption: Gehlot

Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot while addressing a review meeting held at ACB Headquarters at Jhalana on Tuesday, said that sensitive, transparent and accountable good governance is the basic mantra of his government. “Strict decisions are being taken continuously by government against corruption in the state. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is taking continuous action as per our zero tolerance policy against corruption,” Gehlot said and directed the ACB officials to take special action in cases of disproportionate assets and misuse of office. He said that the working style of Rajasthan ACB is being appreciated all over the country. Action is being taken by the ACB by running a campaign against those involved in corruption, he said and emphasized on increasing the reach and making more effective public awareness campaign ‘Sajag Gram’ and ‘ACB Aapke Dwar’ being run by ACB. The CM said that the proposal for strengthening the Public Prosecutor’s cadre has been approved for speedy disposal of corruption cases in the state. “This will also help in speedy disposal of pending cases. Only by adopting a transparent process by eliminating corruption, the benefits of the public welfare schemes of the State Govt would reach the last person,” he said. Gehlot stressed on maximum publicity of ACB’s helpline 1064 and WhatsApp number 94135-02834 for complaints against corruption. He directed that posters informing about this helpline should be pasted in all government offices and a campaign should be launched for maximum publicity. He directed senior officers to organize mass dialogue programmes. So far, 392 cases have been registered under Prevention of Corruption Act in 2022.
