Jaipur: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday arrested a fake official of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for allegedly threatening a local businessman in Jaipur and demanding Rs. 40 lakhs.
Police informed the accused has been identified as Imran. “The victim, Vikas Jain (46), a resident of Jawahar Nagar, received a WhatsApp call on February 6 from the accused. The accused posed as ED Additional Director Sanjay Kumar. The accused threatened the victim to expose him saying financial irregularities have been found in his bank account,” police said.
“The miscreant demanded Rs. 40 lakhs from the victim, else ED will put a raid at his premises. Later, Vikas Jain filed a complaint and the ACB arrested the accused.
