95L cash, 11kg silver seized in Jodhpur

Jaipur: The Railway Police Force (RPF) in Jodhpur on Wednesday seized suspected ‘hawala’ money amounting to Rs. 95 lakhs cash and 11kgs of silver from the possession of two passengers. “A passenger on the Jodhpur-Jaisalmer train was questioned based on suspicion. During checking, Rs. 95 lakhs cash was recovered from his possession. Similarly, a passenger, who had arrived at Jodhpur Railway Station to board a train was caught after he tried to evade the luggage scan. The RPF officials checked his luggage and found 11 kgs of silver, valued around Rs. 8.61 lakhs, in it,” police said. The IT officials were informed and later the cash was handed over to them.
