83 students found depressed

Jaipur/Kota: The health department in Kota has taken initiative to identify depressed coaching students. Under this, teams from the department are reaching the hostels and marking them while filling the questionnaire. This survey is being conducted under the National Mental Health Programme. CMHO Dr Jagdish Soni and Nodal Officer of Mental Health Program Dr Vinod Dadiya are monitoring it.

In the survey started in May, the teams have so far reached 6602 students from 223 hostels. Of these, 83 students were found stressed and depressed. They are being treated and counselled through clinical psychologists and psychiatrists. More than 586 students were given counseling over phone through Telemanas helpline or in person.
