50 vehicles seized during mining raids

Jaipur: More than 50 vehicles involved in illegal transportation of minerals have been seized.
The department has launched a three day special campaign against illegal mining.

Additional Chief Secretary Mines Dr Subodh Agarwal said that more than 25 vehicles have been seized for illegal transportation of gravel, masonry stone, quartz, grit, gypsum and other minerals during night patrolling in the state.

In Jaipur Circle itself, more than 15 vehicles including 2 compressors have been seized in the last 24 hours. Along with registering FIR, one person has been arrested.

Twelve vehicles have been seized in Udaipur, Rajsamand and Bhilwara. Along with this, penalty amount of Rs 9.37 lakh has been recovered. Similarly, one vehicle was seized in Alwar, 3 in Kotputli, one each in Sikar and Neem Ka Thana.
