5 crore saplings to be planted under scheme

Jaipur: To realize Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s idea of Green Rajasthan, the Forest Department will start the ‘Tree Outside Forest in Rajasthan’ scheme on the lines of the Centre. Under the scheme, a target has been set to plant five crore saplings outside the forest area in the current financial year, Paid distribution of these plants will be started from July 1.

Out of these, one crore saplings will be planted on Gochar, Oran and pasture land, while a target has been set to plant one crore saplings in various urban areas. The remaining three crore saplings will be available for common people to plant in their homes and fields.

Under the supervision of ACS Shikhar Agarwal, Munish Garg, PCCF’s Arijit Banerjee and Vikas Pawan Upadhyay are contributing significantly to the scheme.
