4,668 cases registered during campaign against illegal mining

Jaipur: In the biggestever crackdown on illegal mining, under the leadership of ACS Dr Subodh Agarwal, a total of 4,668 cases have been booked in 240 days of the campaign.

For a long, ACS Agarwal was in continuous touch with the Mining Director Sandesh Nayak and took feedback against the ongoing cases. So far, 1,162 FIRs have been registered in the joint operation of Mines, Police and Forest Department, alongside a total of 722 offenders being arrested.

A total of 4,737 vehicles and machines including 156 heavy machines were seized. The teams seized 89,173 tonnes of minerals worth crores, while more than Rs 30 crore have been collected as a fine in the campaign.
