40 sensors installed to monitor air quality in Jaipur

Jaipur: Chairman of Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board Vinu Gupta launched low cost sensor network and its mobile app in Jaipur on Monday. Gupta said that the data received from these sensors would also be available to the common man through a portal and mobile app.

The data will be sent regularly to the departments concerned for a concerted effort in decision making on pollution control in the city. Under the joint aegis of Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board and IIT Kanpur, the low cost sensors have been installed at 40 different places in city to monitor pollution hotspots.

Gupta said that air pollution is a matter of concern. Member Secretary of Rajasthan State Pollution Board Anand Mohan, Chief Engineer Vijay Singhal and other officers were present on the occasion.
