30 silicosis camps in 20 days in the State

Jaipur: A state-wide campaign was organised for spreading awareness among silicosis patients in Rajasthan. The twenty-day campaign was jointly organized by the Department of Mines, Health Department, District Administration, and mine owners in Rajasthan wherein more than 30 medical camps were held.

ACS (Mines) Dr Subodh Agarwal informed that more than five thousand labourers and locals were given information about silicosis and steps to be taken for its prevention. “The medical camp not only helped silicosis victims to become aware of the treatment but financial help is also being provided to them through registration. About 630 health check-up camps and 350 awareness camps have been organized by the Mines Department since April,” said Dr Subodh Agarwal.
