3 omicron sub-variants in Raj: Report

Jaipur: In the report of genome sequencing of the Medical Department, it was revealed that three types of Omicron variant are there in Rajasthan.

The three different forms for Omicron identified in genome sequencing include 47.66% of Omicron’s BA.1 patients, 48.15% of BA.2 patients, and 1.10% patients of type BA.1.1529. However, the department believes that 90% of positive patients are infected by Omicron.

While conducting district-wise random sampling, the spread of Omicron was reported. However, genome sequencing has confirmed Omicron in only about 1800 patients.

Among these patients, different forms of the Omicron variant were found. The medical department is keeping a close eye on all types of Omicron variants.
