110 illegal sites targeted Statewide

Jaipur: Action has been taken against 110 illegal mining sites in the state during the statewide campaign being run against illegal mining activities in the state from January 15. This is for the first time when the action has been taken on a large scale. The campaign was started on the instructions of chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

Mines Secretary Anandhi said that due to instructions given to completely eliminate illegal mining activities, a big message was given by taking action against illegal mining.

She said that the state government will not tolerate illegal mining activities. “The seriousness of the govt towards the campaign can be understood from fact that during campaign, action has been taken against illegal activities at 110 places in 3 days, while 45 excavators and JCB machines have been seized,” she said.
