100 companies of Central Police

Jaipur: Total 100 companies of Central Police personnel have been allotted for the Rajasthan Assembly elections. This important facet of assembly polls came to light in the ECI meeting held on Thursday. CEC, Election Commission of India - Rajiv Kumar - said that along with the five states having assembly elections, the neighboring states will also have to exercise sensitivity and vigilance. In a meeting held through the VC with CS, DGP and officials of enforcement agencies of 17 states including Rajasthan, he said that the role of all 17 states including electoral states & neighboring states is important in resolving interstate issues.

In the meeting, ECI Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goyal directed to increase two-way surveillance on inter-state borders to stop flow of illegal cash, illicit liquor etc.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan CS Usha Sharma said, “Compared to the last assembly elections, this time the action of seizures has been very effective, as a result of which a manifold increase in seizures has been recorded,”.

DGP Umesh Mishra said that to ensure peaceful completion of the election process, effective preventive action is being taken by the police across the state.
