1 more med student tries to kill self

Jaipur: Barely four days after a female resident doctor of SMS Medical College committed suicide on Friday, another case of a female doctor attempting suicide came to the fore on Monday.

Sources informed the first-year student of the Neurosurgery Department attempted suicide by taking sleeping pills at home. “The female doctor is on ventilator support and undergoing treatment in the ICU ward. It is believed that the girl consumed sleeping pills due to stress,” informed an official.

“Studying medical science is difficult and often leads to stress. Various activities, including sports and recreational, are organised for students and college administration is making efforts to reduce such types of incidents,” said Dr Rajeev Bagarhatta, Principal, SMS Medical College.
