SRK opens about his upcoming projects Pathaan and Dunki at Dubai film festival

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Shah Rukh Khan is a name that needs no introduction. The actor's extensive work and fan following not only in India but across the globe is the true description of the star that he is. SRK is currently gearing up to star in not one but three Hindi films which will be released next year. Currently, along with his shoot schedules, the Don actor is also busy with attending several International festivals. On Thursday, he graced the Red Sea International Film Festival in Dubai. where he was also honoured. The actor was seen talking about his upcoming films, giving a deeper insight into why he chose the films and what lies ahead.

In an exclusive interview with Deadline and also during the festival, SRK spoke about his experience working on the sets of Dunki. The actor said, "In English, my film would be called Donkey. But the way, a part of India pronounces the word, it is ‘Dunki’. The Punjabis say it as Dunki. How much should I tell you about the film …mmm…It is a film directed by one of the most brilliant filmmakers we have in our country, Mr Raju Hirani. It is written by a fantastic writer, Abhijat Joshi. It is a story of people who want to come back home when you finally get the calling."

He added, "It is a comic film. His (Mr Hirani) films are always a mix of comedy and a lot of emotions about the country. So, it is a big journey for me and the film goes through different areas around the world and finally comes back home to India."

Talking about his foremost release, Pathaan which is helmed by Siddharth Anand, SRK shared his reason why he chose the film. In an interview with Deadline, he revealed, "I have never done an action film. I have done some really sweet love stories, some social dramas, and some bad guys but nobody was taking me for action. I am 57 years old so I thought, for the next 10 years I’m going to do action films."

Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for three releases next year. He will be seen in Siddharth Anand's Pathaan in January with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. He will next star in Atlee's Jawan alongside Nayanthara and Sanya Malhotra and then will be seen in Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki with Taapsee Pannu.
