Will the appointment of Governors done next month?

New Delhi: The posts of governors, lieutenant governors and administrators are vacant in many states and union territories. It is being told that the central government can appoint them next month. In a big state like West Bengal, the post of governor is vacant for the last one month after Jagdeep Dhankhar became the Vice President. Politically, West Bengal is very important for the BJP as BJP had won 18 Lok Sabha seats in the last election from West Bengal. So there is complete focus of the party. Manipur Governor La Ganesan is holding the additional charge there. BJP has to make a politically strong person the Governor of West Bengal. The post of Governor is also vacant in Nagaland and Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi is holding additional charge there. On the last date of this month i.e. 30th September, the tenure of Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik is also completing.

Apart from him, the term of Governor is being completed in some other states. Two governors are going to retire in the next month i.e. October. The tenure of Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi will end on October 10. Before that the term of Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra will also end on October 3. Apart from the Governor, the post of the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry is also vacant. Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan is handling the work there as in-charge. Similarly, Prafulla Khoda Patel, the administrator of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman Diu, is also handling the responsibility of the administrator of Lakshadweep. Devendra Kumar Joshi, the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is also retiring on October 8. Therefore, the appointment is expected to be made next month.
