Will Oppn parties get united on national issues?

New Delhi: Post the incidents of communal violence and hate speeches in different parts of the country, thirteen ppposition parties issued a joint statement against the developments. This is an issue on which the opposition could have been united, however, in this, only a handful of parties came together. Similarly, during the budget session of Parliament, the entire opposition did not come together on any issue.

Even on the issue like inflation, all the opposition parties were not seen standing united. Therefore the question is, who is handling the task of issuing a joint statement or formulating a common protest strategy on behalf of the opposition and did the person concerned talk to all the opposition parties? This question is important because even the parties making statements against communal violence and hate speeches did not participate in the joint statement.

TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu could have been talked to but he was not involved in the joint statement. Similarly, Chandrashekhar Rao could have been spoken with on the issue, but it seems that he kept his distance due to the ongoing conflict with the Congress in the regional politics. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has remained silent on the issue of communal violence and he too did not sign the joint statement.

The most surprising thing is about the JDS, with which the Congress was in government till two years ago. Secondly, the JD(S) has been opposed to the communal incidents in Karnataka and despite this, it has not been included in the joint statement.
