Why hasn’t Sonu Nigam watched ‘The Kashmir Files’? Singer reveals the reason himself

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Sonu Nigam is regarded as one of the most astounding singers of India with a voice that has made several, cry, fall in love and dance. The Padma Shri awardee is not only famous for his melodious voice but for his outspoken nature where he does not fear away from speaking his mind. In a recent interview with Times Now, Sonu Nigam talked about the highly loved controversial film ‘The Kashmir Files’, giving fans an insight as to what he thought about it.

The singer apparently has not watched the movie as he is sensitive about such topics. “I cry inside when I hear those stories. It's not just about Kashmir, I'm sensitive about all such crimes. I have not gathered the courage to see the film”, Sonu revealed. He continued by saying that his compassion does not limit to the Kashmiri Pandits but extends to all the groups who have suffered as a result of rebellious acts.

The Kal Ho Naa Ho singer further criticized Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s comments on the movie during a parliamentary session. Sonu believed that the ‘fake movie’ comment was an insult to the tears of all the Pandits, who had lost their loved ones to the genocide, that cried while watching the movie.

The Kashmir Files is a drama film based on the true events of the Kashmiri Pandit genocide. The film released in March gained a lot of traction for its controversial topic that started a debate in the entertainment industry.
